Sounds a little cliché right? I'll get right to the point. It's SO fucking important! This post is for the women out there trying to make it on their own... you need a #girlboss tribe.

No matter what you do for work, fun... whatever. It is so important to surround yourself with likeminded people. Trust me, I know from my own experience, how gut wrenching / exhausting it is trying to explain yourself to people who don't get it; don't understand your life or what your goals are.

Sometimes the thought of explaining it literally hurts my heart & makes me feel so alone.

The truth of the matter is, not everyone in your life is going to understand you or what it takes to be the person you want to be. I'm not saying you should get rid of those people but you need to create a support system, because, among many other amazing reasons, you need it for your sanity!

I touched on this a little bit in my post about Fashion Week & the importance of networking. You can read up on it here.

EXHIBIT A : The people that think you sit around with your thumb up your ass because you work from home.

This drives me insane because as my own boss, I literally work every hour that I'm awake. There are no breaks & when there are, I am that much further behind. So, if you work from home or you have an office job and work on a blog or other project outside of work, I feel your pain & you are not alone!

Go out of your way to befriend someone that is also in the same place as you. If you're shy, don't be. It's completely holding you back in life. I used to be SO shy, can you believe it?

I mean, I still say weird shit when I'm nervous so, I'm not a pro by any means. Everyone gets nervous. I still refuse to speak in front of people - that's next on my to-do list.

You just have to be fearless, take a shot of tequila or a xanax. Do what you must.

Sometimes all it takes is having coffee with someone that understands your life & hustle to get you excited & inspired.

This is something I've found to be very helpful! I meet with new people strangers all the time.

Di Carolina from Flight of Spice
Just today, I had coffee with a fellow blogger, Di Carolina from the blog Flight of Spice (she is amazing - you'll love her too) & we had such a great time. 2 hrs later and accidental missed meetings, we figured out ways to help each other with business & just connect.

About a year ago, I went WAY out of my comfort zone and started attending events (alone - because I had zero friends here) & seriously it changed my life in a very real way - I'll explain in a second.

Now, I go to events (still alone) and I know half girls the room. I'm not popular, I never have been & it's not about that. I'm not afraid anymore, I run into my #girlboss tribe everywhere & it makes the struggle worth it.
Mary from Layers of Chic & Stephanie from Fashion Roll
Fast forward, I started my own digital marketing agency / influencer agency, THB Marketing House here in New York all because I connected with so many girls & brands I knew I could help. NONE of that would have been possible if I didn't go out there and find women just like me & build my little gang of hustlers.

Wether you're just looking for support, a new friend, a business partner, client... whatever. Having that support system can take you places you've never been & elevate your career, spirit, life - everything.

BTW if you're an influencer reading this, you can sign up for THB Marketing House here!

Enjoy the weekend babes!
