face masks
If you watch my insta story or snapchats you already know that I'm obsessed with face masks. A friend of mine recently asked me if it was good for your skin to wear masks everyday & my answer was simple... yes, but you need to know which ones to use & how often to use them. I do some sort of mask every day but they are all for different reasons. For example, I wouldn't use an exfoliating mask everyday because that would damage my skin. I switch between sheet masks, cream masks, gel masks, peel away masks & exfoliating masks.

The good news is, I recently tried out about 15 and narrowed down a list of the best ones for you guys.

1. Glamglow Gravitymud Firming Treatment - this is my favorite by far right now. I got a sample of this at Sephora with my purchase a few months back. I ran out of the mask I was using at the time & was craving some sort of remedy. I used the tube in about 3 uses & just didn't really think twice about it. That week, I had so many people complimenting my skin on how plump and glowy it was. One of my friends asked me if I had been doing anything different and, having forgotten about the mask, I answered 'no'. I kept thinking about it and then I realized I had used the Glamglow silver firming mask a few times that week. Needless to say, I was hooked for good!

I really can feel and see the difference, more than anything I feel like my skin looks tight and plump especially around my cheek bones. This mask is good to use a few times a week but max 3x because it sticks to the skin. It's a peel away mask & tugs a bit when removing it.

2. Korres Wild Rose Instant Brightening & Illuminating Mask - This stuff is the bomb. This is a cream mask so it never really dries on the skin. This is good to use in between a peel away mask or an exfoliation mask because it slides right off the skin with warm water, no need to scrub or tug on the face. I LOVE this stuff. I'm ALL about brightening. I have an olive skin tone and I can look dull really easily so I need to what I can to brighten things up. This stuff works immediately, great to use before an event or in the morning.

3. Erborian Ginseng Shot Mask - Sheet masks are great because they are to gentle. I use my sheet masks in between exfoliating or when I feel like I need some major hydration. I have been using them only on days after I get my laser facials because I need a boost of moisture. Also, after the facials I can't put anything harsh on my face. I've been going to Skin Laundry once a week for laser facials (I'll do a whole post on lasers and why you MUST do them). Long story short, they vaporize the dirt in your pores & then use a low level IPL to stimulate collagen and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps with age spots. The lasers can dry out the skin and cause sensitivity so I use my sheet mask immediately after to give it an overdose of moisture without having to peel or scrub something away.

4. Peter Thomas Roth 24k Gold Mask - This mask does it all. It tightens, lifts, brightens & smoothes the skin & is actually the best deal for the amount of product you get in comparison to the others. It sounds like it would be the most expensive but it comes in a huge jar. I was turned onto it by my friend Simone. I saw her on snap wearing it every day and she insisted it was the bee's knees. This is also a gentle mask, it is a gel texture and never hardens on the skin so you just wash it off with warm water. Also great to use in between facials and exfoliation.

5. Glamglow Flashmud brightening treatment - Anything with vitamin C I'll use on my face. Vitamin C is all you need to clear up dull skin & I love this one because it also works as an exfoliator. You should only use this maybe twice a week because it is a bit harsh. The texture is rough and it hardens when it dries. I love the way my skin feels after these types of masks because it's SOOOO smooth. So this one is great because the active ingredients work to brighten while the texture removes all the dead skin cells to bring out a really nice glow.

6. Doll Face Little Black Mask - This stuff is intense. It's such an amazing exfoliator! It is a hardening mask so it shouldn't be used very often, only once or twice a week at the most. More than anything, I love the smell! There is a very strong scent of peppermint, it's very aromatherapeutic. It really feels like the product is getting deep into the pores & that's what you really want with this type. Most of the other masks have been for tightening, brightening and plumping but this is a great mask for clearing away impurities like black heads and pimples.

7. Doll Face Refine Mask - This an awesome peel away mask. Again, peel aways and exfoliators should be used sparingly. I love this one because it gives a tingling sensation and comes off really easily. As for the other products, they either take rinsing or come off in chunks - which can be annoying at times. This mask is one smooth peel & I feel so fresh and smooth after.

8. Lather Sea Kelp & Ginseng All-Over Mask - This one got delivered last night &, after only one try, made this list. This is a cooling gel mask & for immediate hydration. My favorite thing about this mask is that you can literally put it "all over". It works as a face / body / hair mask. I LOVE a good hair mask. It doesn't harden so it just needs to be gently rinsed with water and can be used a few times a week.
