The Haute Brunette Alyssa Melendez

TGIF babes! I've got you guys covered on some major beauty must-haves. Everything from haircare, skincare & makeup.

I'm introducing something a little new to the blog that I can't wait to share with you guys. I have decided to evolve & incorporate video into my blog here and there. Truthfully, at times when I'm describing products or style, I wish I could express myself a little more without so much writing. So, I decided to add short videos called Haute Minutes. Clever huh? But really, the point is... sometimes I get kind of annoyed that I have to watch an entire youtube video just to get to the small segment I wanted to see. For your viewing pleasure, I've made one minute videos to quickly get to the point & give you a few more details about what's going on. I hope they are helpful.

Let's get started...

evo shine drops, ysl beauty highlighter, ysl beauty lip stain, korres oil, fresh sugar face polish

1. Korres Black Pine Night Oil - The winter is the MOST IMPORTANT time to moisturize the skin. The harsh cold weather can do major damage and moisture is the best weapon to combat the dry winter air. Last year, I wrote about oils in the post Fighting Dry Winter Skin - fighting winter weather with oils, you can catch up here. Although Korres black pine oil is recommended for nighttime use, this time of year I use these oils morning and night. I've already noticed firmer and more defined structure on my cheeks. I'm oil obsessed & this one is amazing.

2. Fresh Sugar Face Polish - I die for a great face scrub. I love Fresh products, the smell is even amazing, seriously my favorite. It's like a mix between sugar, bergamot & lemon grass. Aside from the wonderful scent, it is the perfect blend between gentle and rough so I use it in the morning and at night. My skin is ridiculously smooth afterwards & it feels inredible to follow up with some face oil. Exfoliating is must all year long but even more important in the winter to wipe away those dry, dead skin cells. Their lip polish is insane too, there's nothing worse than dry, cracked lips.

3. YSL Beauty Vinyl Cream Lip Stain #409 - This lip stain is everything. I thought it was more of a matte color when I got it but it's a beautiful high gloss. It stays in one place without liner, for hours & is continuously glossy. I've never used anything like it. It comes in a bunch of colors but this deep crimson is so sexy. It's perfect for a night out or daytime and it's a great fall color to add to your makeup bag.

4. Evo Love Perpetua Shine Drops - I suffer from dry hair... badly. Sometimes I try to embrace it with my effortless waves but when I'm doing a regular blow out or smooth curls, shine is a must. I love this product because you can use it on it's own or add it to your other products. It's highly concentrated but works wonders. My natural hair is dry like a birds nest, I could probably catch on fire really easily. So, as you can see, it is literally transforming... plus it's travel size!

5. YSL Beauty Touche Éclat Radiant Touch Luminous Honey - Love this highlighter! I have been using it on and off for years and every time I use it I fall in love all over again. I have a SUPER hard time finding the right highlighter tone for my skin. Silvery highlighters just don't work for me, in photos I get this grey color all over my face and it's just not good. This product has more of a warmer, rose gold tone and it literally raises my cheekbones 5 inches. The color is subtle but the effects are definitely noticeable.
