I'm baaaack! Life has been crazy around here. Work, travel, moving, weddings (not mine but I'm hopeful!! haha).

I just got back from a little weekend getaway to Acapulco, Mexico for one of my dear friend's weddings. Even though it was for only two days, I was so freakin' excited to FINALLY put on a swimsuit and wear some summer sandals and beach cover-ups!

I swear this was the longest and most excruciating winter of my life! I probably sound like a baby to those who've lived on the East Coast for more than a year but it was brutal for me. California sun runs through my veins! This is going to take some getting used to but the sun is out now, my spirits are high and my spray tan is kickin'.

Deciding what to pack for a vacation becomes easier when you dial down a few necessities. Everything else falls into place from there.

I can't get Penny to sit for 5 seconds for a photo but when she knows I'm leaving she acts like a princess... *eyes rolling*.

Through all the madness I always make time to spend all my money online and stay up to date on my favorite trends. I don't know what I would do without online shopping, I hardly have time to wash my hair, let alone get pants on and go outside.

Truth be told, I am going a little overboard with the striped items but it is seriously the best look for summer. I have been wearing this striped romper everywhere, it is officially my travel outfit. It is so so so comfy and I look cute (minus my tangled hair and morning breath) when I get off a hellish overnight flight. I wore it when I traveled 11 hours overnight to Mexico and once when I was severely hungover on the way home from Vegas... it's a gem. It is certainly the first thing on my list of what to pack for a trip.

1. Yumi Kim Swept Away Maxi Dress • Yumi Kim • $288 // Yumi Kim is really my weakness. Her wrap dresses are to die for and are the best to wear for every activity this summer. I wore one of the maxi wrap dresses to a formal wedding as well as a more casual event. Both times, nailed it.

2. FOREVER 21 Lace-Up Espadrille Wedges • Forever 21 • $34.90 // I am sort of a snob when it comes to shoes, not like I am only wearing high end designer but I typically don't like to wear cheap shoes because they hurt my feet and usually look cheap as well. HOWEVER, I found the cutest damn strappy platform wedges at Forever21 for $35. They do not look cheap at all and they are surprisingly comfortable. I bought them in two colors and seriously plan my outfits around them just so I can put them on.

3. Le Specs Runaways Luxe Sunglasses, 50mm • Le Specs • $79 // Le Specs are my go-to brand for shades right now. They are super stylish, on trend and only $100 or less. I don't like to spend a lot of money on trends that will likely go away in a few months so I stick with Le Specs and they never disappoint!

4. Charter Club Petite Button-Down Denim Shirt, Only at Macy's • Charter Club • $34.99 // It's been too hot to wear any sort of jacket but I am a freak and get cold everywhere. I have been dragging around a denim button down with me, tying it around my waist. It's super cute when it's sitting on your hips as an accessory but also useful when it's chilly. Light and warm for airport travel as well!

5. Balenciaga Classic City Bag, Citron • Balenciaga • $1,835 I decided to bite the bullet and get a large bright tote bag to cart my things around this summer. I am always getting neutral colors and I figured it was time to be bold. Summer is the best time to get out of your comfort zone and have some fun with your style.

6.  Lovers + Friends Jubilee Jumpsuit • Lovers + Friends • $180 //STRIPES! Yeah, I mean the obsession is real. The best thing about blue and white striped garments is that you can mix and match other prints with them and not look ridiculous. I wore a rocker tee with my striped pants and a floral bikini top with a striped skirt. Plus, stripes expand your color palette for matching.

7. FOREVER 21 Straw Boater Hat • Forever 21 • $14.90 // Hats are a MUST. I have gone through the ringer with sun spots and trust me, it's not fun or easy to treat if you damage your skin. On a happy note, hats make every outfit cool without even trying, while keeping those shitty sun rays off your face. I don't spend a lot of money on hats that I am traveling with, simply because they get smashed in one way or another during transit. Forever21 has some great finds.

8. Triangl Marley - Sugar Sugar Bikini $89 // Triangl is one of my favorite bikini brands for two reasons, they are SO cute and SO cheap. I mean, cheap in comparison to how hideously expensive swimwear is. It's like two for the price of one and they have some killer prints this season.

Running around Mexico in my favorite strappy sandals - Also, I've been wearing this tank nearly everyday. It looks so cute with high waisted pants, shorts or skirts.
